AAMT Scholarship Program: Investing in the Future of Aviation Maintenance

April 24, 2024

We are thrilled to announce that AAMT will be participating in the NBAA Maintenance Conference 2024, held in Portland, Oregon, from April 28th to May 2nd. As part of our commitment to supporting the next generation of aviation professionals, we are proud to sponsor two AAMT Initial Maintenance type courses for business jets for aspiring young technicians. This initiative is being coordinated in cooperation with the NBAA as part of their Maintenance Competition.

Two deserving students will have the opportunity to receive a voucher valid for any AAMT FAA Accepted Initial Maintenance training course. This scholarship program aims to make maintenance training more accessible to the industry. As AAMT Director Andrew Trinchero emphasizes, “We want to do our part to help make maintenance training more accessible to the industry, bolstering competence and safety in our industry. Through this scholarship program, we intend to offer these 2 courses and many more in the future to young technicians to help jump start their career.”

In honor of our colleague Henry Schofield, who passed away earlier this year due to cancer, this scholarship is named after him. Henry was a long-time A&P Technician who later ventured into sales and management roles in various companies within our industry. He was well-regarded and made significant contributions to our field. By establishing this scholarship, we aim to honor Henry’s legacy and support the next generation of A&Ps.

At AAMT, we recognize the critical role that ongoing training plays in the aviation industry, particularly in business aviation, where safety, precision, and efficiency are paramount. Therefore, we are committed to providing top-notch training solutions that empower individuals and organizations to thrive in this dynamic field.

We look forward to engaging with customers at the NBAA Maintenance Conference, delving into discussions about their training requirements, and exploring avenues through which AAMT can better serve the maintenance training needs of the Business Aviation community.

Stay tuned for updates on our scholarship program and other initiatives aimed at fostering excellence and innovation in aviation maintenance. Together, let’s shape the future of aviation maintenance for the better.
