Academy 147 and AllianceJet Partner to Strengthen Practical Aircraft Maintenance Training

Academy 147 Expands Practical Training Access Through AllianceJet Partnership

Academy 147 has expanded its international practical training network through a new partnership with AllianceJet, a Malta-based business aviation operator and aircraft management organization.

Academy 147 already delivers theoretical and practical aircraft type training to aviation maintenance professionals worldwide. The new partnership provides an additional operational environment where applicable practical training and assessments may be conducted, subject to aircraft availability, facility suitability and the requirements of each training program.

The agreement was formalized following a visit to AllianceJet’s offices in Malta, where representatives from both organizations discussed how aircraft operators and training organizations can work together to make practical aircraft maintenance training more accessible and easier to coordinate.

The collaboration forms part of Academy 147’s wider strategy to build an industry-connected aviation training ecosystem bringing together aircraft operators, approved maintenance organizations, aircraft management companies, instructors and aviation maintenance professionals.

“Practical training has always been a core part of Academy 147’s offering. The value of this partnership is that it adds another trusted operational environment where applicable practical elements can be delivered. By expanding our network of partner locations, we can respond more flexibly to aircraft availability and customer requirements while maintaining the same standards of safety, quality and regulatory compliance.”

Expanding Access to Practical Training Locations

Delivering the practical element of aircraft type training requires access to the appropriate aircraft, technical documentation, equipment and a suitable maintenance environment.

These resources are not always available in the same location or at the exact time they are required. Aircraft may be operating, undergoing scheduled maintenance or located in a different country from the participating engineers.

For a global training organisation, building relationships with operators, MROs and aircraft management companies is therefore essential.

The AllianceJet partnership gives Academy 147 another potential location within its practical training network. When the relevant aircraft and operational conditions are available, Academy 147 can coordinate applicable practical activities at the partner’s facilities.

This additional flexibility can make it easier to match practical training requirements with suitable aircraft and operational environments.

Connecting Training Requirements With Aircraft Availability

The practical element of aircraft type training allows maintenance professionals to apply their theoretical knowledge directly to the relevant aircraft.

Learners may be required to identify components, navigate maintenance documentation, access aircraft systems, use appropriate tools and complete structured practical tasks under the supervision of qualified Academy 147 instructors and assessors.

For these activities to take place, the correct aircraft type must be available in a suitable environment.

By expanding its partner network, Academy 147 can improve its ability to identify locations where these requirements can be supported. This helps connect scheduled training programs with available aircraft and operational resources across different regions.

The partnership with AllianceJet therefore strengthens the infrastructure around Academy 147’s existing practical training delivery. It provides an additional route for coordinating practicals not a new practical training service.

Training Within a Controlled Operational Environment

Any practical training conducted through the partnership will be carefully planned around AllianceJet’s flight and maintenance operations.

Aircraft access will be limited to circumstances where training will not interfere with ongoing maintenance, flight schedules or customer requirements.

Before training begins, Academy 147 personnel and learners will receive an introduction to the applicable facilities and maintenance environment. Participants will be required to follow AllianceJet’s safety procedures and the instructions of its operational personnel throughout their time on site.

Academy 147 will review the suitability of the proposed location for the intended training and assessment activities. Where required, the location and supporting agreement may also form part of the relevant remote-site approval process.

Training and assessment activities may be subject to Academy 147’s internal quality monitoring and, where applicable, oversight or audit by the relevant aviation authorities.

These measures ensure that expanding the number of available practical training locations does not compromise safety, quality or regulatory compliance.

Why AllianceJet?

AllianceJet is part of Alliance Aviation Group, which began operations in 2008 and has developed a range of international business aviation services.

Alliance Executive Jets operates from Malta under EASA Air Operator Certificate AOC MT-11, providing private aircraft charter and aircraft management services.

Its management activities include operational supervision, maintenance program scheduling, technical follow-up, flight planning and aviation regulatory compliance.

This experience makes AllianceJet a valuable addition to Academy 147’s practical training network. The organization understands the operational coordination required when arranging access to aircraft while maintaining safety, availability and service continuity.

The partnership also demonstrates how operators and aircraft management organizations can contribute to the development of the aviation maintenance workforce by providing access to the environments and resources required for practical training.

Growing an International Practical Training Network

The AllianceJet partnership forms part of Academy 147’s broader initiative to develop a network of practical training partners across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.

Through collaboration with aircraft operators, approved MROs and aircraft management organizations, Academy 147 aims to build a wider selection of suitable locations where practical training may be supported.

A larger network can provide greater flexibility when matching:

  • The required aircraft type
  • The location of participating engineers
  • Aircraft and maintenance availability
  • Instructor schedules
  • Customer timescales
  • Regulatory and facility requirements

This industry-connected model allows Academy 147 to coordinate practical training closer to available aircraft and, where possible, closer to the organisations employing the participating engineers.

For learners and customers, the result is a more flexible route to completing practical training. For partners, it is an opportunity to contribute to workforce development and participate in an international aviation training ecosystem.

Supporting the Complete Training Journey

Academy 147 is the EASA Part-147 approved maintenance training organisation within Academy Aviation Group.

Supported by experienced instructors and multiple international regulatory approvals, Academy 147 delivers B1/B2 theoretical and practical aircraft type training, differences training, general familiarisation and refresher programmes across fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft.

The partnership with AllianceJet adds another valuable operational connection to this established training capability.

By building a network of operators, MROs and aircraft management organisations, Academy 147 can continue connecting technical instruction with suitable locations for practical application and assessment.

Become an Academy 147 Practical Training Partner

Academy 147 is continuing to expand its international Practical Training Partner Network and welcomes discussions with approved MROs, aircraft operators and aircraft management organisations.

Partners may support practical training through access to appropriate aircraft, facilities, technical documentation, tools, ground support equipment and operational coordination.

All activities are agreed in advance and remain subject to aircraft availability, operational feasibility, facility suitability, safety requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
